Sabine Brosch obtained a Master Degree in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Natural Sciences Degree in pharmacology from the University of Vienna, Austria. She performed post-graduate studies in pharmacology at the University of Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. She worked as Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Vienna from 1988 to 1992 and thereafter in the Department of Pharmacovigilance at the Ministry of Health in Vienna, Austria.

Sabine Brosch joined the EMA, in 1996 and served as Deputy Head of Sector for Pharmacovigilance, Post-Authorisation Safety and Efficacy of Medicines at the EMA from 2001 to 2009. In 2010 she took up her new role as Business Lead in EudraVigilance and International Standardisation in Pharmacovigilance in the Section Business Coordination and Scientific Projects of the Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management Sector.

She is co-chair of the EudraVigilance Expert Working Group and the Article 57(2) Implementation Working Group as well as EU topic leader for the ICH E2B topic on Individual Case Safety Reports and Rapporteur of the ICH M5 topic on the Identification of Medicinal Products. She is further alternate EU member of the MedDRA Management Board.
